The little resort of Albir in the area of Alfaz del Pí is wedged between Benidorm and Altea and is ideally suited for those who’d like an alternative to the busy beaches of Benidorm, but still like to enjoy the amenities of a good beach resort.
Albir’s beach is called Playa de Racó de l’Albir, it is around 0.5km long and has been awarded a blue flag. From here you’ll be treated with views across to the impressive ‘Peñon de Ifach’ and the resort of Calpe.
Albir has rather a quiet and calm atmosphere but the local businesses are geared towards catering to northern European tourists, so you’ll find an abundance of restaurants, bars and cafes to choose from. Take a walk along the beach front and you’ll find many more options with great views across the sea too.
If you decide you want to swop the tranquillity of Albir for some serious Benidorm shopping, eating or drinking, then you’ll find a regular cheap bus service along the main road in the the town and it takes approx 20 minutes. A taxi will take approx 10 minutes (depending on traffic) and will cost around €8-10 each-way.
For those on self-catering, there are several supermarkets in the town which even stock some imported brands from the UK. Right in the centre of Albir, lies Albir Golf where people can play cricket, football and of course golf.
Albir is one of the best spots on the Costa Blanca to have a relaxed fun family holiday.
Albir is approximately a 75 minute transfer from the airport
