The relaxed and quiet purpose-built holiday resort of Calas de Mallorca is in the centre of the east coast of the island, close to the towns of Manacor and Felanitx. The resort is set on a cliff top and is therefore not ideal for those with mobility issues, however it does offer amazing views and good beaches, and is popular with families with small children looking for cheap Majorca holidays. Playa Domingos is the principal beach and offers warm, crystal clear waters, however they can have strong undercurrents and may not be suitable for weak swimmers.
The majority of the hotels here are self contained all inclusive resorts offering families everything they need under one roof, therefore the town itself is relatively undeveloped and certainly the nightlife scene is limited. There are a small collection of bars and restaurants in the Centro Commercial, but most of the night time entertainment is hotel-based.
Calas de Mallorca has the usual selection of tourist shops near the hotels in the Centro Commercial, there is also a Sunday morning market in nearby Felanitx which has a selection of souvenirs, so be prepared to bargain if you want a good deal.
For those looking to explore beyond the resort, there are bus services to the larger towns, however do check the times these run, especially the last bus as otherwise a taxi back maybe the only option if staying out late.
Calas de Mallorca is generally one of the most cost effective resorts to stay at with a number of popular all inclusive hotels available and so it is a great choice for cheap Majorca holidays.
Calas de Mallorca is approximately a 60 minutes transfer from the airport
