Anyone whose holiday mission is to party will have the time of their lives in Majorca's premier party resort of Magaluf during the summer months. The resort is situated about 10 miles west of Palma and has become one of Europe's most popular holiday destinations given its famous nightlife. It sports hundreds of bars and clubs, and has a wide choice of budget accommodation and restaurants which makes it a popular choice for cheap Majorca holidays. Magaluf beach can become packed during June, July and August with young holidaymakers enjoying the festival like atmosphere.

During the winter season of November-April, the town has a complete change of identity and is much quieter with many of the bars and clubs closed, this has resulted in it becoming popular for older clientele and families during this period. The hotels open in the resort during that time of year generally have entertainment to suit such as quizzes and bingo.

Summer daytime activities in Magaluf are centred on the long sandy beach, with various watersport options available like jet skiing or scuba diving. The waterpark and a wild west theme park are also popular options.

It is in the evening that this resort really becomes alive, with its pulsating nightlife that goes on until dawn the next morning. Most start the evening in one of the plethora of bars and move on to the parties hosted by top DJs in the numerous clubs along the famed Punta Ballena strip. Touts line the strip seducing customers into their establishments with special offers on drinks and cocktails. A popular alternative to drinking and clubbing is an evening at the Pirates Adventure theme dinner and show.

Magaluf is a resort favoured by young holidaymakers, and it therefore has an abundance of fast-food outlets. Those in self-catering accommodation will never be far from a familiar name like McDonalds, Burger King or KFC. The resort also has a wide selection of restaurants, the majority catering to British tastes. For variety there are Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Italian and some Spanish restaurants too.

The promenade and streets in the centre of Magaluf are lined with dozens of shops selling beachwear and other souvenirs geared for holidaymakers. Better shopping can be found in Palma, an easy taxi or bus ride away. Every Monday there is a market in Calvia, six miles inland. There are large supermarkets for self catering shopping in nearby Palma Nova, they stock well-known international brands, as well as local produce.

Whether looking for a cheap self catering or all inclusive holiday, there is something for everybody in this famous resort.
