Palma Flights from Liverpool and Manchester

Palma, capital of the autonomous region of the Balearic Islands, is a lively, cosmopolitan city and the depth of history, culture and nightlife here often takes visitors by surprise. This is a vibrant city with amazing architecture, a bustling montage of shopping centres, a maze of narrow lanes and restored buildings surrounded by ruined ancient city walls, and modern boulevards which make Palma holidays a great choice, and with Palma flights from Manchester taking just 2 hours and 45 minutes, it's a breeze to get too!

Palma has kept its local flavour, particularly in its old quarter, lined by cafés and tapas bars. Often the native dialect of Mallorquin is the only language heard in the backstreets.

Well known for its busy port filled with luxury yachts and cruise ships, the city is a favourite with celebrities and the rich alike. There is no beach in Palma itself, however there are plenty nearby to choose from when a day relaxing in the sunshine is called for.

There is a lot to do in the city itself such as exploring the old cobbled streets or visiting the art galleries and the impressive 13th Century Cathedral, or wind the day away on the harbour front with a relaxing cocktail in one of the trendy bars. Throughout the year there is also a programme of concerts, exhibitions, festivals and theatre productions that should appeal to most tastes, the local Ocimax cinema also shows a selection of the latest blockbuster movies in English. Hotels throughout the city are mostly of a high standard, however budget options are available.

Some of Spain's biggest clubs are in Palma. The most popular nightlife hotspots include Pacha Mallorca, which is built into the Cliffside overlooking the harbour. Nearby Tito's also enjoys dramatic views over the yachts moored below, and don't miss a visit to the extravagantly decorated ABACA. If you don't fancy a club, the Shamrock Irish bar on the harbour front is one to consider for a late night drink, usually open until the early hours.

The biggest concentration of restaurants is in the centre of town at El Terreno, and around the Paseo Maritimo. For some of Spain's best Basque food head to Koldo Royo.

The best places for shopping in Palma are in the atmospheric streets of the old town, find the Cathedral and you won’t go far wrong from there, with designer outlets lining the streets. The daily Mercat Artesanal is a lively craft market worth visiting for local curios and holiday souvenirs, while the Rastro flea market sprawls over the Villalonga ring road. Head towards the far western end of the harbour and you’ll find the shopping mall Porto Pi full of well known department stores and a large supermarket.

Transfer Time

Palma is approximately a 10 minute transfer from the airport and with Palma flights just 2 hours and 45 minutes, you'll be there in no time.
